Damn., Kay's has some mighty fine burgers! They are big and tasty! I think that they are the best burgers in the universe!

Lost BOYS

The Village School reminded me of Gateway School in Arcata California. The kids were fantastic. I could have stayed out on that playground all day and just talked to the kids. There is nothing as satisfying as hanging out with kids and listening to the things they talk about. The headmaster (guy with the club) was interesting and I felt like signing up at any level from volunteer to art teacher. I fit in there and felt comfortable.

I feel strange in discussing my "residence of creativity" with fellow students that don't frequent a neighborhood bar. Its a safe "zone" that offers patrons the sanctity of the amber nectar AND a friendly comfortable place to relax. I have mentioned that among the patrons are several distinguished people. We are all unique and special in many ways but there are those among us that have distinguished ourselves in unusual ways. I will write about this!

Kay's Bar Art

Well, today I was in residence at my "Artist in Residence" venue and s___. I had breakfast and talked BASEBALL with Kirk, the catcher/bartender. He is a catcher first and a bartender by necessity. Our conversation was testeronal, "how bout them beavers"! I drank "Stellas",the beer that I have been drinking since I was 12 years old. My Uncle Ron, who recently died slipped me my first one. Ron was in the Scot's Guard. He stood outside Buckingham Palace in the rain and stomped around the block with a rifle on his shoulder. I digress, excuse me, I put a mobile picture of "Back to Cali" below.

I loved the SCHOOL! All the kids seemed so contented. I missed out on the cool school thang. I am now making up for it. I got my undies all in a wad when I thought I was being made fun of over my age. I get a lot of that at PSU. Ally was being sweet and I jumped on her because I am so defensive. I again beg for forgiveness! I imagine that non traditional anything will be viewed by a myopic society as strange. I taught art to kindergartners and it was great. They are like little sponges that absorb everything. Children bring us to see the world in a more exciting and positive way.

Mondays Dance Party and Eye Contact experiment

I have not enjoyed myself in any other class, ever, as I did in our Monday class. The eye contact circle was a wonderful exercise. I thought about all the things that it brought up for me for the rest of the day. I felt much more comfortable with everyone in class. It seemed very bonding. I feel quite fortunate to have taken this class and look forward to the ideas of other students. The Dance party was a big pleasant surprise. The food and the atmosphere was comfortable. I was honored to be invited into the home and space of a classmate.

Kay's Bar

Most of my art that is in a public place in Portland is located in a neighborhood bar where I do my homework while drinking Guinness. My friend Patrick, who owns the bar is already my patron. Today I asked him if he would allow me to be his artist in residence.
